Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about our preschool program? Here are the answers to the things parents ask most. For questions about enrollment, tuition, or financial aid, visit our Admissions FAQ.

Our preschool serves children ages 2 through 5. Age eligibility is determined by September 1 of the enrolled school year. We offer three class levels: Foundations (2s), Fundamentals (3s), and Pre-Kindergarten (4-5s).

All preschool classes run from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Foundations (2s) students can attend 2 or 4 days per week. Fundamentals (3s) and Pre-Kindergarten students can attend 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week. Before care is available starting at 7:00 AM and after care extends to 5:00 PM.

It depends on the class. Foundations (2s) students do not need to be potty trained. Fundamentals (3s) students should understand the concept of potty training, though occasional reminders and accidents are expected. Pre-Kindergarten students must be fully toilet trained.

Parents provide a daily snack and lunch. If your child is staying for enrichment or after-school programs, please send two snacks and a lunch. The classroom teacher will make parents aware of any classroom allergies. Please notify the school office of any food allergies before the first day of school.

Yes. St. Peter Preschool is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and we are required to provide a rest period. Your child will have a personal floor mat for napping. Feel free to send a special blanket or comfort item to help them rest. Students who do not sleep will continue with quiet curriculum activities after a designated rest time.

Preschool students do not have a required uniform. Please send your child in closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Children will be painting, using glue, and playing outdoors, so dress for activity. Label all clothing and personal items with your child’s name.

Our curriculum focuses on core knowledge in literacy, mathematics, language, cognitive development, science, and motor skills, guided by Texas Education Agency standards. Every student also participates in a daily religion lesson. Learning is hands-on and thematic, built around your child’s everyday world. For more details, visit our Preschool Overview.

St. Peter Preschool follows Northwest ISD for weather-related closings. If NISD is closed, we are closed. If NISD has a delayed start, St. Peter Preschool is closed for the entire day. Once school is in session, it will not be dismissed early due to weather, but parents are welcome to pick up their child early if they wish.

No. St. Peter Christian School welcomes families of all backgrounds. While we are a ministry of St. Peter Church (Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod), church membership is not required for enrollment. All students participate in daily religion lessons and chapel, but families do not need to be members of any particular denomination.

Absolutely. Our Pre-Kindergarten program is designed to prepare students for the expectations of kindergarten, and many families continue into our growing K-5 elementary program. Children who are already part of our community benefit from familiar teachers, routines, and friendships as they move forward.
